My yoga journey began at a hot yoga studio where the same sequence was practiced again and again. I then went on to do my first 200hr training in Ashtanga, practicing the primary series every day, the same 49 postures revisited hundreds of times. Whilst this deep dive into the practice instilled a deep love for yoga in me, it also left much to be desired. I strongly believe that as we age and move through life we want to remain strong and mobile in every movement and on every plane, not just in the same movements we practice consistently. For a long time, my yoga practice was my main source of exercise and so I began to seek out teachers who inspired me to move in different ways and who brought more to the practice than just the physical aspect. I soon discovered that the practice could become like a dance or a moving meditation, creative sequences that intelligently built towards complex asana took me into a deep flow state. It was a feeling I hadn't experienced before in my yoga practice and made me want to keep exploring. Creative sequencing and theming have become my two greatest passions in teaching. I am constantly rolling around on the floor and finding new ways to move from point A to point B. I love how that movement and exploration tells a story, teaching us about much more than just what is happening on our mats. I always say how we show up for ourselves on our mats says a great deal about how we show up in our lives. I strive to always be curious and playful and to share this with my students through my teachings. I can't wait to share with you my own methodology for creating and delivering transformative practices that I have slowly cultivated over years of practicing and learning from teachers who inspire me.
